Five NHS graduates who have excelled in their athletic careers were honored by the Norwalk Old Timers at their 45th annual dinner held on November 7th at Continental Manor. Named for recognition this year were: Bob Barate, Connie Carpenter, Steve Gulyas, Bill Howard and Harvey Melzer.

A reminder that we now have our Bulk Email working for announcements to members as well as potential members of NHSAA. Does anyone have a 1947 yearbook which can be spared? If so, get in touch with Jayne Thompson at 954-707-9771. She’s trying to get one for her grandfather. In fact, if anyone has extra yearbooks we’d be happy to list them in case there are members who might need them.

Norwalk High’s football team is enjoying the fall season, winning big and losing big. Remember that the fall classic this year with Brien McMahon will take place at 10:30 AM on Thanksgiving Day at Brien McMahon Field.

We’d like to express our thanks to Norwalk High for permitting us to hold our meetings every month in the library at the high school. After meeting at City Hall for a dozen years, it’s a little more like home meeting in the friendly confines of the library. And while we’re on the subject of meetings, it’s time again to remind all of our members, those who live locally especially, that the operation of the NHS Alumni needs new blood. We have a corps of energetic members who handle all phases of the association’s but it is difficult to do it without help. Won’t you join us and add your input into our planning? We need you.
