Through an agreement with school administrators, the NHSSAA has established a Wall of Honor. The Wall, which occupies a prominent section of the high school’s lobby features esteemed Norwalk High School graduates from all walks of life. An envious roster for any institution we are proud to note that our Wall of Honor features Nobel and Pulitzer prize winners, war heroes, sport figures, Hall of Famers, authors, educators, medical professionals, attorneys, industrialists, politicians and community leaders.
Each plaque includes a portrait and biography of the honoree who, not only through their hard work, brought recognition onto themselves; these alumni also stand as inspiration and motivation to our students and community as a whole.
Wall of Honor 2011
The five latest candidates for Norwalk High School Alumni Association Wall of Honor were
announced at the annual picnic July 7th. These alumni will be inducted during the annual dinner
at 3 p.m. on October 2nd at The Norwalk Inn & Conference Center on East Avenue.
Those being honored this year are:
The Late Alan Burr ’44
a founding member of NHSAA and the 1st chairman of the Scholarship Selection Committee
Celia Bobrowsky ’76
Eugene J. Callahan ’50
Julie Coyne ’85
Jeffrey Smith ’71
the recently retired NHS staffer whose disciplined Marching Bears bands repeatedly
excelled musically and academically during his 35 year tenure.

Wall of Honor Dinner
Honorees are recognized at our annual Wall of Honor Dinner each fall. In addition to paying tribute
to our guests of honor, many classes use this event as an opportunity to hold a mini reunion
(tables of 10). All classes that come as a group will be acknowledged.
